OnlyFans payout: how you get your money

How the OnlyFans payout works

Every payment a fan makes lands in your creator balance, minus the platform's 20 percent fee. You keep 80 percent. That balance is not immediately available. OnlyFans holds new earnings for a short period before they become eligible for payout, and it applies a minimum amount below which no payout is sent.

Once your balance clears both hurdles, you can request a payout manually or let the platform pay out automatically on a schedule you set in your account. The money then goes to whichever payout method you registered.

The exact holding period and minimum amount have changed in the past and can differ by country and method, so check the current terms in your account settings rather than relying on a number from a forum.

The four requirements for your first payout

A verified account

OnlyFans, operated by Fenix International Ltd in London, verifies every creator with an ID document and a selfie before any money leaves the platform. Without a completed verification, you can post but you cannot get paid. You also need to be 18 or older, without exception.

A registered payout method

You add your bank details or wallet in the banking section of your account. Until a method is saved and confirmed, requests are not possible.

The minimum payout amount

Small balances stay on the platform until they cross the threshold. Check the current terms for the exact figure. If you are only earning a little at the start, this is often why nothing arrives yet.

The holding period

New earnings sit in a pending state for a while before they become available. This is a fraud protection measure, not a sign that something is wrong. Check the current terms for how long it applies.

If you have not opened an account yet, OnlyFans sign-up walks through verification step by step.

Your payout methods at a glance

Which methods you see depends on your country. These are the ones commonly offered to creators in Europe.

Bank transfer (SEPA)

The standard for creators in Germany. Money goes straight to your bank account. Simple, low or no fee on the platform side, but the slowest option.

Visa Direct

A transfer to a Visa debit card. Often faster than a bank transfer. Availability depends on your bank and card.

Paxum

An online wallet widely used in the creator economy. Payouts from OnlyFans arrive there, and you move the money to your bank afterwards. Paxum charges its own fees, so read them before choosing this route.

ePayments and Cosmo Payment

Wallet-style services that some creators use as an intermediate step, particularly where a direct bank transfer is not available. Fees and availability vary by country.

Skrill

Another e-wallet option offered in some regions. Same logic: funds land in the wallet first, then go to your bank.

For most creators in Germany, a direct bank transfer is the simplest choice. Wallets only make sense if you need faster access or a bank transfer is not offered to you.

How long does the payout take?

Count three stages. First the holding period on new earnings. Second the processing time after you request the payout, which is typically a business day or two. Third the transfer time of the method itself, from under a day for card payouts to several business days for a bank transfer.

Weekends and public holidays in the UK add time. A payout requested on a Friday evening can easily take until the middle of the following week to show up on a German account.

Typical problems with the OnlyFans payout and how to fix them

Payout is rejected

Usually the bank details do not match the name on your verified ID, or the account type is not supported. Check that the account holder name is identical and that you entered the IBAN correctly.

Payout takes longer than expected

Before contacting support, check the three stages above and count only business days. If it is still overdue after that, open a support ticket with the payout date and amount.

Balance is not showing

Pending earnings and available earnings are shown separately. Money from the last few days is normal to see as pending. If a fan's payment is missing entirely, it may have been refunded or flagged.

Wrong account details saved

Correct them immediately in your settings. If a payout has already gone out to a wrong but valid account, contact support and your bank straight away. Recovery is possible but not guaranteed.

Account not fully verified

The most common reason for a beginner. Open your verification page and check whether a document was rejected or a step is missing.

Fees and what is left of your earnings

Start from what fans pay. OnlyFans takes 20 percent. Of the remaining 80 percent, your payout method may take a small fee, and if the payout is in a currency different from your account, your bank applies an exchange rate that costs a bit more.

A rough example: a fan spends 100 euros. Roughly 80 euros reach your balance. After a possible bank or wallet fee and conversion, you might see something like 76 to 79 euros on your account. Then tax comes off that.

Tax on your payout

Every payout is income. In Germany, regular content sales usually count as a business, which means a business registration (Gewerbeanmeldung) and income tax (Einkommensteuer) on your profit. Value-added tax (Umsatzsteuer) may or may not apply depending on your turnover and whether you use the small business rule (Kleinunternehmerregelung). Because the platform is a UK company, the reverse-charge mechanism can come into play.

Do not spend the full payout. Set aside a portion for tax from the very first transfer and talk to a tax adviser about your specific situation. Read more in OnlyFans tax.

Common questions

When do I get my first payout?

After your account is verified, a payout method is saved, the holding period on your earnings has passed and your balance is above the minimum. For most new creators that adds up to a few weeks after the first sale.

Can I get paid to a German bank account?

Yes. A direct bank transfer via SEPA is the standard method for creators in Germany. Make sure the account holder name matches your verified identity.

What happens to my balance if I delete my account?

Request a payout of everything available before you delete. Money still in the holding period cannot be rushed. Check the current terms and see delete OnlyFans account before you close anything.

Can I use more than one payout method?

You can change your method in your settings, but payouts go to the one currently saved. Switching methods may reset verification for the new method, so do not change it right before a scheduled payout.

Do fans need a specific payment method?

That is their side, not yours. Fans pay by card or other supported methods, and it makes no difference to how your payout works.
